    BREATHING MEDITATION

    This meditation is similar to "Transcendental Meditation (TM)," only instead of a mantra in the mind you're using your breath instead as a type of mantra. As with the TM, you are transcending the various brainwave activity frequency levels (please see chart) from that of waking and actively working body and mind, Beta, to that of Delta (sleep and meditation).

    When you focus on breathing deeply and evenly, your attention is then solely on the "here and now" of your breath, and you begin to breath with your whole body, the way a baby does. Superoxygenation also activates and balances the chakras and is unbelievably healthy for the coherence of your subtle (spiritual) and gross (physical) bodies.

    What this meditation does in a relatively short period of time is to entrain your mind to transcend the intervening levels you can see in the chart and take you directly from Beta/Alpha to deep Delta. This meditation, as with most meditations, can in fact take you deeper than the deepest sleep. Indeed, it can take you so deep that you're not even self-aware - dreamless, visionless, completely without senses, pure consciousness. This is the state where your mind is tapped into All Mind, or All Consciousness. It's deeply restful and energizes both the body and the brain to often astonishing levels.

    It slows and even reverses the aging process, balances bodily systems (making it difficult for disease to live in the body), and brings ever-increasing coherence between the body and the mind.

    While the TM is best (by far) as a sitting meditation, this meditation can be done lying down, which makes it a very good one after turning in for the night but before going to sleep, or upon waking. If you practice it upon waking, it's a good idea to get up and wake up for a moment or two, taking care of toilet things or whatever. Then return to your bed or your meditation room or area and lie down. You can also precede this meditation with the brain quadrant activation meditation. It makes for very healthy daily practice.

    THE MEDITATION

    As with the other meditations, this one is very simple. If you lie down, lie on your back and put a pillow under your knees. Close your eyes and begin breathing deeply and evenly through your nose. Place your tongue against the roof of your mouth just behind your teeth in the top row. Breathe into your lower abdomen so that you're pushing your belly upwards in order to make more room for your lungs and diaphragm to extend lower into your abdomen. Breathe deeply and evenly. Try to make your breath so thin and even that you can't even hear it passing through your nose. With practice and patience, you can reach a point where you have just two inhalations and exhalations in an entire minute.

    Because you're using your attention to control the breathing, your attention is on an activity of gentle focus, or gentle concentration. If your mind wanders from the breath, gently return it to paying your full attention to the breathing. Feel it entering your nose and passing down the rear nasal cavity into the bronchial tubes. Feel it fill the lungs and then extend your belly upwards to make more room. Your relaxation will deepen with every breath. Soon, the breath will take care of itself while your mind becomes completely devoid of thought, or concepts, or pictures or sounds. This is the deep place, the place that rejuvenates the mind and body.

    The benefits for clearing the mind are obvious, but this breathing meditation has an added benefit of superoxygenating the body, thus the cells and on down to all the smaller and smaller constituents of your physical being. As was mentioned above, it also activates and balances the chakras. If you feel welling emotion, allow it to express itself because these are emotions associated with matters that need to be cleared from the chakras or other areas of the body ruled by the chakras.

    Anywhere from 10 minutes to two hours for this meditation, done daily, and you'll be one of the healthiest and happiest people on the planet. These meditations, practiced in concert with the use of alchemical preparations, will soon have you in shining health and stunning happiness.
